In September 2018 the European DR Barometer Workshop will be convened in Milan, Italy to learn the latest approaches to screening, treatment and patient and provide education. At the heart of this meeting are real world conversations and collaborations about optimising patient care through attention to identifying solutions that result in positive change.
The long-term goal is to improve the vision health outcomes of adults living with diabetes by mobilizing knowledge from the DR Barometer study and on-the-ground intelligence to address issues related to patient education and empowerment, guidelines and protocols for health care professionals, and coordinated care.
A broad range of stakeholders, ranging from specialists in diabetes and eye care, to primary care providers, public health authorities and patient and advocacy groups for vision, diabetes and ageing will share their expertise and collaborate to propose actions to improve health system gaps.
